Aeson NaPulse vs NaForce: Which Sodium-Ion Battery Do You Need?

Aeson Power makes two sodium-ion battery lines for Malaysian cars — NaPulse and NaForce. Here's the difference and how to choose the right one for your vehicle.

Aeson Power launched three sodium-ion battery models in Malaysia: NaPulse Starting, NaPulse Start-Stop, and NaForce Start-Stop. If you're considering making the switch, here's exactly how they differ and which one belongs in your car.

Quick Summary

Model For Price From Warranty
NaPulse StartingStandard ICE without start-stopRM3693 years
NaPulse Start-StopVehicles with idle-stop systemRM7493 years
NaForce Start-StopHigh-demand start-stop + European carsRM7493 years

NaPulse Starting — For Older and Simpler Cars

The NaPulse Starting is Aeson's entry-level sodium-ion battery, designed for conventional ICE vehicles without a start-stop system. Think older Proton Saga, Perodua Myvi pre-2018, Toyota Hilux, and similar models.

At from RM369, it's the most accessible sodium-ion option — priced comparably to a mid-range Amaron or Camel Plus, but with 3x the cycle life and far better heat tolerance. If you've been replacing your battery every 2–3 years in a standard ICE car, the NaPulse Starting pays for itself over time.

NaPulse Start-Stop — For Modern Malaysian Cars

The NaPulse Start-Stop is optimised for the frequent charge-discharge cycles of idle-stop vehicles. It handles the same chemistry advantages as the Starting model but with enhanced cycling capability — more appropriate for Perodua Ativa, Honda City 2020+, Toyota Yaris Cross, and similar models that cut the engine at every red light.

NaForce Start-Stop — For Demanding Applications

The NaForce is Aeson's flagship automotive battery, designed for high-demand vehicles: performance cars, larger European models, commercial vehicles running heavy electronics, and any car previously requiring an AGM battery.

The NaForce line is the one pictured with the distinctive teal label and "NaForce SS" branding — and it's the one we recommend for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Mazda CX-5, and any vehicle where alternator load is consistently high.

How to Choose

  • No start-stop system → NaPulse Starting (from RM369)
  • Start-stop, Japanese/Korean car → NaPulse Start-Stop
  • Start-stop, European car or previously required AGM → NaForce Start-Stop
